ABORIGINAL & TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER HEALTH

ABORIGINAL & TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER HEALTH

Unfortunately it is true that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people typically die at much younger ages than other Australians and are more likely to experience disability and reduced quality of life because of ill health.

One important contributor to health and wellbeing is access to health services.  At North Rockhampton Medical Centre our doctors specialise in indigenous health and well-being.    We are committed to Closing The Gap with our patients.

Equally true is the old saying that prevention is better than cure.  With this in mind our Preventive Health Services are aimed at protecting and promoting health or preventing illness in our patients. These services are delivered both on-site and off-site using a broad range of medical specialists and allied health providers.  Activities such as screening, physical and psychological health checks, immunisations, ECGs, spirometry tests, observations and pathology collection are undertaken to ascertain your health status.

Have you had your Annual Health Check?  also known as a 715.  Call us today to find out if you are eligible.............it's free!
